Lately the miniPCs that come from China multiply and today we have the new CHUWI GT Box with us. A miniPC that looks externally drink directly from the powerful Chuwi HiGame, although in the internal aspect do not seem at all since to start the CHUWI GT Box mounts an Intel Core i3-5005U that lately seems to be giving away in China. Otherwise a miniPC very valid as desktop PC thanks to its 8GB of RAM, 256GB SSD and ease of expansion in these two aspects.
Processor, RAM and storage
The miniPC CHUWI GT Box includes an Intel Core i3-5005U 14nm processor with 2 cores and 4 wires with a basic speed of 2Ghz and an Intel HD 5500 GPU cooled by an internal fan. The base RAM is 8GB DDR3L, expandable up to 16GB, includes a 256 M.2 SSD and has an internal bay for another 2.5-inch SATA3 storage unit.
Connectivity and other specifications
This mini PC in terms of connectivity has two 3.5mm audio jack, two USB 3.0 ports, two USB 2.0, two HDMI 1.4 video outputs, DC power connector and Gigabit Ethernet port. It also includes WiFi aC, Bluetooth 4.2 and the operating system installed is Windows 10 Home 64-bit. The box has measures of 173 x 158 x 73 mm with a volume of two liters and a weight of 1.6Kg.
Price and availability
- The mini PC Chuwi GT Box can be purchased at Gearbest.com for $ 299.99 free shipping.
Was doing some research on this Intel Core i3-5005U processor and its a decent choice for the PC not the best but good enough given the scarcity of Intel Processors. even if newer processors where used the price would go up. the closest alternative i found had only 4GB RAM So paying $299.99 for this isn’t so bad. Was hoping xhuwi would throw in a free keyboard and mouse though… lol
We will review soon one minipc with the i3-5005U, don’t look bad…
I kinda like the design of the PC, not like the other mini PCs i see on amazon and Gearbest. Chuwi has really come far. The free shipping is what has me considering buying this system because if i got something similar on on ebay might have to pay for shipping and that adds up. My one question is can i setup android on this and does anyone have a link to how.
You can try with PrimeOS or any other Android system in PC

After seeing this post, I went through amazon to check for a similar spec system at the price range. I found the Shuttle XPC Nano but it had just 4Gb of Ram and just 120GB SSD and anything with better specs come at a higher price. So as far as i can see this is a good buy. Wish there was a USB Type-C port though and the ability to opt for a Windows 10 Pro OS.
This system has 2 HDMI ports so I am assuming it has a dual display capability plus a gigabit ethernet port. So I can see this being perfect for my media server, will have to set up Linux on it first but that’s, not a problem. The price and specs beat most of what i can find on Amazon and don’t want to get a used PC so this works perfectly for me.
Yes this does have dual display output. If you are going to use this system as a media server i think you should check out OSMC, its a linux distro that is used for setting up media servers and the requirements are low so this PC should be more than capable of running it. Since there is an Ethernet port you can connect the to the internet via wifi and to your external storage hub via eth port.
