New version of the UMPC CHUWI MiniBook that this time reduces some of its features in order to cut its price significantly.
Some changes that mainly affect its processor, since this time we have a more modest Chip, the Intel Celeron J4125. In other more powerful versions we had better processors and screens. The RAM memory is also reduced to 6 GB, although this will not impact its usability excessively, since most of these UMPCs are used for basic tasks. The exterior appearance of the CHUWI MiniBook continues without major changes with its Yoga-type design that allows it to be converted into a tablet by folding the screen on the base where the keyboard is located.
CHUWI MiniBook specs
The CHUWI MiniBook includes an Intel Celeron J4125 processor. A Quad Core x86 manufactured in 14nm, capable of reaching a maximum speed of 2.5 Ghz, which integrates an Intel HD 600 GPU and is cooled by a small fan. For more details on this processor, see our review of the Beelink GKmini.
In terms of memory, we have 6 GB of LPDDR4 RAM, 128 GB of eMMc 5.1 memory as standard and the option to mount an M.2 2242 SSD in an internal bay that we have available. We also have a micro SD reader with support for cards up to 128 GB.
Screen and other features
This model has an 8-inch IPS touch screen with a resolution of 1920 × 1200 pixels, which we can rotate 360º to work as if it were a tablet and that incorporates a 2MP webcam at the top. Regarding wireless connectivity, it includes an internal adapter with Dual Band Wi-Fi aC and Bluetooth 4.2. In terms of connectivity, we have a 3.5 mm audio jack, a USB Type-C port, a microHDMI video output, a USB 3.0 connector and another USB 2.0. The battery is 26.6 Wh (3500mAh / 7.6 V) which is expected to have PD 2.0 fast charging.
This small laptop has a QWERTY keyboard with central optical touch control system. The measurements are 201x128x19 mm, its body is made of CNC aluminium, and it weighs 663 gr. The installed operating system is Windows 10 Pro, and we have a pair of internal speakers of 0.8 W each.
