It has been a long time since the last update of the small Amazon Fire 7 tablet, but this 2022 we already have the renewed model on sale.
A version of this 7-inch tablet that, despite partially renewing its hardware, maintains its positioning within the more modest range. The most interesting aspect of this update is found in the RAM that doubles to 2 GB, although the adoption of a convenient USB Type-C port for power, better Wifi and battery are also welcome improvements.
The operating system is the usual Amazon Fire OS 8, based on Android 11, with access to the Amazon app store and naturally integrates the Alexa voice assistant.
Fire 7 Tablet specifications
The Fire 7 tablet is also renewed with a Mediatek MT8168V Quad Core SoC manufactured on 12nm. A chip with 4 ARM Cortex-A53 processors capable of reaching 2.0 Ghz and an ARM MALI-G52 MC1 GPU that reaches 800 Mhz.
The RAM is 2 GB and for storage we have versions with 16 / 32 GB and we have on one side a micro SD card reader that accepts up to 1 TB.
Display and other features
The touch screen is a 7-inch IPS and a resolution of 1024×600 pixels and is accompanied by a 2 MP resolution HD webcam. On the back we have a second webcam also with a 2 MP sensor. For wireless connectivity we find Wifi aC Dual Band and Bluetooth 5.0.
The included connectors are a 3.5 mm audio jack and a USB Type-C 2.0 port for data and power. The battery has an autonomy that according to Amazon can reach 10 h and takes to charge from 0% 4 hours and for audio we have a single speaker.
