Today a new Amazon Fire TV Stick 2021 has been presented that changes only its remote control by adding shortcuts to Alexa, Netflix, Disney+, Prime Video and Hulu.
The hardware of the Fire TV Stick 2021 is the same that we saw in its 2020 review and allow us to enjoy streaming services up to 1080p like Prime Video, Netflix, YouTube, Hulu, PLEX and HBO MAX. This new version of this stick supports HDR10+ and HLG modes allowing last generation h.265 and VP9 video files and also features Dolby Atmos audio support (not DTS).
Specifications
The Fire TV Stick 2021 is designed to view content up to Full HD 1080p and is less powerful than the 4K model. Also a Lite version with a remote control with fewer functions because it does not include IR to control the volume or turn off our TV as the only difference.
In this small TV-Stick everything indicates that it includes a Mediatek MT8695D SoC, a Quad Core with Cortex-A53 processors capable of reaching 1.7 Ghz and a PowerVR GE8300 MP4 GPU that allows to move smoothly the Fire OS system based on Android 9. It has only 1 GB of RAM DDR4 and a meager 8 GB of eMMC storage. In terms of wireless connectivity, both models share the same specifications with WiFi aC MiMo and Bluetooth 5.0 + LE.
