We already have on sale since a few days ago the version of the 2021 Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K for only $34.99, a new version that is a good option to smartizar our TV in an economical way.
The Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K only renews its Alexa remote control with direct access buttons to Prime Video, Netflix, Disney+ and Amazon Music, the rest of its hardware remains the same. This Stick is 100% oriented to streaming playback as you can read in our Review with Fire OS as operating system which is a very good option to smartizar our TV in an economical way.
SoC, RAM and storage
The new Fire TV Stick 4K model has the interesting MediaTek MT8695 SoC as engine that has four ARM Cortex-A53 cores and integrates a PowerVR GE8300MP4 GPU with OpenGL 3.2 and Vulcan 1.1 support. This time we found a total of 1.5 GB of RAM which is double that of the previous model although we only have the classic 8 GB of storage memory, a limitation that we always find in Amazon products that also in not possible to expand the storage by the limitations of FireOS.
In the wireless connectivity section we have Wifi aC Dual band with an antenna designed by Amazon that promises excellent coverage and Bluetooth 5.0 LE. In the connectivity section as always we find a single OTG microUSB port to which we can connect a USB HUB or compatible Ethernet adapter. As audio and video output we have the HDMI 2.0 connector with 4K@60fps and HDR support and we have HDCP 2.2 support and all the necessary DRM. The operating system of this TV-Sitck is FireOS with what that implies at the level of limitations but also offers simplicity.
Along with the Fire TV Stick 4K 2021 we have included a new Alexa Voice Remote command to which we can give orders to perform searches on the TV-Stick or connect with our compatible domotic device. This remote can be purchased separately and is compatible with the previous Fire TV Stick of 2nd and 3rd generation, the voice commands only work in the languages where it goes on sale officially.
