G96 Max W2 another box with Android 11 and AMlogic S905W2 SoC

Another Box with Android with the AMlogic S905W2 SoC that appears on AliExpress called G96 Max W2 and that will go unnoticed given its characteristics.

The Amlogic S905W2 processor is a very interesting entry-level processor, as you can see in our review, and which also comes with Android 11 as the operating system. A chip that is capable of decoding video with the AV1 codec up to 4K@60fps resolutions and with HDR 10+ support, so we will have good features as a multimedia player.

As in other Chinese Android Boxes, the G96 Max W2 is not recommended for viewing payment platforms such as Netflix, since it does not have the certificates to view them in maximum video quality. To conclude, another Box more like others that we can already find in the current market.

Inside the Smart Box G96 Max W2 we find the Amlogic S905W2 processor manufactured in 12nm as the engine. This chip is a Quad Core with ARM Cortex-A35 processors and a MALI-G3 MP2 GPU. A sufficient processor to use streaming apps, KODI, IPTV and even games with 3D graphics without too much load.

In this device we have 2/4 GB of DDR3 RAM and 16/32/64 GB of eMMc storage memory integrated on board. It also has a micro SD format card reader that allows us to increase its internal storage capacity.

Other features

In the wireless connectivity section in the G96 Max W2 we have Dual Band Wi-Fi aC and Bluetooth, although we do not know the version of this. The connectors section includes 2 USB 2.0 ports, HDMI 2.1 video output, SPDIF digital audio output, 10/100 network connector and finally an analogue port for audio and video output.

Included with the accessories is an infrared remote control, power adapter and all the necessary cables to get it up and running right out of the box.
