We now have a release date for the GPD BOX mini PC, the first computer to feature the MCIO 8i connector, designed to maximize the performance of compatible eGPUs.
This computer is the perfect match for the recently unveiled GPD G2 dock. Powering it are the powerful Intel Core Ultra 7 358H and Intel Core Ultra X7 356H processors, two solutions that allow us to run any demanding app without limitations. Even without connecting an eGPU, we have the new Intel Arc iGPU with the new, highly efficient Xe3 cores as our graphics solution. Inside the case, we also have speakers and a small integrated power supply. Additionally, we have two2.5G Ethernet ports to set up a powerful server if desired.
This machine undoubtedly stands out for featuring two USB4 v2 ports with speeds of up to 80 Gbps and an 8-lane MCIO connector with a PCIe 5.0×8 interface, ideal for connecting an external GPU.

GPD BOX Mini PC Specifications
The most powerful version with an MCIO 8i port features the Intel Core Ultra X7 358H processor, with 16 cores (4P 8E 4LPE) up to4.8 GHz and power consumption ranging from 15 to 80 W. The GPU is an Intel Arc B390, which integrates 12 Xe3 cores up to 2.5 GHz with image and performance enhancements via XeSS. It also features an NPU for AI tasks capable of up to 50 TOPS; combined with the CPU, this brings the total to 180 TOPS. There will also be a lower-end version without the MCIO 8i port, featuring an Intel Core Ultra X7 356H running up to 4.7 GHz and a GPU with 4 Xe3 cores.
For RAM, we can install a total of 32/64 GB of LPDDR5X in dual-channel mode up to 8533 MHz. For storage, there are three slots for 2280 NVMe PCIe 5.0×4 SSDs, along with another 4.0×2 slot, providing a total capacity of up to 16 TB.

Other notable features
In terms of connectivity, there is an internal slot for an M.2 Wi-Fi/Bluetooth adapter and two 2.5G Ethernet ports. For ports, there are four USB-A 3.2, two USB4 v2 up to 80 Gbps, an MCIO 8i connector for eGPU, a 3.5mm combo audio jack, and two HDMI 2.1 DR 2.1 video outputs. In total, you can connect up to four displays simultaneously at 8K@60 HDR resolutions.
The power supply is internal, so you just need to plug it into the wall. The case design allows you to place it vertically or horizontally on your desk. It is compatible with Windows 11 or Linux operating systems.
