GPD XP a powerful console with Android 11 and modular control for FPS’s

We have more and more options for game-oriented devices under Android 11 and this time we see in stores the new GPD XP, a portable device designed almost exclusively to play MOBAs and FPS like PUBG

Its conception is surprising with modular controls that allow us to adapt these depending on the needs of the game that we have on the screen and that give enough options in this simple. Although the GPD XP allows emulation of up to PSP, WII and N64, it is not oriented to this, given its 20.5:9 aspect ratio that leaves us with a tiny screen.

As for hardware, it is not bad, since in addition to 6/128 GB we have a fairly powerful mid-range SoC, the Helio G95, the same one used by the Xiaomi Redmi Note 10S. The battery, an important point, is 7000 mAh with a 20 W PD 2.0 fast charge that will give us an autonomy that can reach 7 hours.

Among its software, in addition to emulators, there is no lack of a remapper of tactile functions to keys and to point out that we can use it as a smartphone, although much heavier than a normal one, since it weighs 370 grams.

SoC, RAM and storage

The GPD XP has as its heart a SoC MediaTek Helio G95 (MTK6785) an Octa Core manufactured in 12 nm with 2 Cortex-A76 up to 2.1 GHz + 6 Cortex-A55 up to 2.0 GHz, in the graphic section we have Mali-G76 MC4 GPU that we allow you to play demanding titles with some fluency. Comment that this time we have a fan that helps to cool the whole.

The RAM is 6 GB LPDDR4X and for storage we have 128 GB of high speed UFS 2.1 memory expandable by micro SD card up to 2 TB capacity.

Display and other specifications

The GPD XP has a 6.81″ IPS OGS screen, with a resolution of 2400 × 1080 pixels with 60 Hz refresh rate, 500 nits maximum brightness, 20.5: 9 aspect ratio and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. In the photographic section, we have a single 5 MP front camera.

It has a side fingerprint reader, Dual Band Wi-Fi aC, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS and a 4G-LTE modem compatible with world bands that mounts a Dual SIM + micro SD tray. As connectors, we have a USB Type-C port, 3.5 mm audio jack and for audio a pair of speakers.
