H96 Max debuts the new Rockchip RK3528 SoC with Android 13

Soon we will have new TV-Boxes equipped with the low-end Rockchip RK3528 SoC in stores, since we found the first Box with this chip on AliExpress.

The round H96 MAX is the first Chinese Box that we find with this entry-level chip that works with a Quad Core configuration that is quite outdated due to the fact that it incorporates ARM Cortex-A53 processors and ARM MALI-450mp2 GPU. The most interesting news comes from the operating system, since it has Android 13, for wireless connectivity it already adopts Wi-Fi 6 and as a hook it advertises its ability to play video up to 8K at 30fps.

In short, a low-end SoC that lags behind, for example, Amlogic’s alternative, where with its S905W2 we can even decode AV1, something impossible with the Rockchip RK3528.

H96 Max RK3528 Specifications

This version of the TV-Box H96 Max includes a Rockchip RK3528 processor. This Chip is a Quad Core with ARM Cortex-A 53 processors and a modest ARM MALI-450mp2 GPU whose clock speed is unknown.

For RAM we have versions with 2/4 GB DDR3 and for storage we can choose between 16/32/64 GB. We also have a micro SD card reader, so we can always expand the storage memory.

Other features

In the field of wireless connectivity, we have Wi-Fi 6 with internal antenna and Bluetooth 5.0. As connectors, we find in its plastic box a USB 2.0 port, another USB 3.0, 10/100 network connector, analogue audio and video output jack and an HDMI 2.1 video output port that allows us to take video up to 8K resolutions @30fps.

A simple infrared remote control, power supply and HDMI cable are delivered with the H96 Max RK3528 to be able to start using this Box just by taking it out of the box and connecting it to our TV.
