Android 12 lands on Rockchip’s recent Octa Core RK3566 SoC and debuts in a Chinese Box called H96 MAX V56 as we see in online stores.
The presence of Android 12 is the only interesting novelty in this Box, although as is normal in this type of Chinese Android Box, we cannot expect system updates. The Rockchip RK3566 Octa Core SoC is interesting to be used as a multimedia player due to its good specifications and even for games or emulators thanks to its GPU, superior to the one we have in the Amlogic S905X3 and S905X4 chips. If you want more details about this processor you can read our review of the RK3566.
For the rest, nothing to highlight, apart from a version with 8 GB of RAM that seems a bit exaggerated for the use that is usually given to an Android Box.
H96 MAX V56 Specifications
The Box H96 MAX V56 includes a Rockchip RK3566 SoC, a Quad Core with low-power 64-bit ARM Cortex-A55 processors theoretically up to 1.99 Ghz, with a Mali-G52-2EE GPU and an iA NPU with a power of 0.8 TOPS.
The RAM is 2/4/8 GB LPDDR4 and the storage is 16/32/64 GB eMMc, we do not see a micro SD card reader so if we want to expand the storage we will have to use one of the USB ports.
Other specifications
In the field of wireless connectivity, it includes Dual Band Wi-Fi aC and Bluetooth 4.0 with internal antenna. The connectors that we have in this case are a USB 3.0 port, a USB 2.0, SPDIF digital audio output, Gigabit Ethernet port and an HDMI 2.0a video output with support for resolutions up to 4k@60Hz.
