New variant of a box with the new Rockchip RK3356 SoC that this time has a plastic box with a circular design and front LED display in case we want to vary from the typical quadrangular one.
Internally, the HK1 RBOX R3 is not very different from what we have seen so far with this new SoC, with a very correct configuration with 4 GB of DDR4 RAM, Wi-Fi aC and Gigabit Ethernet as the base, which is not bad at all. It also includes Android 11 as an operating system, although it remains to be seen if this is really a worthwhile leap or there is still a lot to debug as has happened before with this type of cheap Smart box.
SoC, RAM and storage
The Smart Box HK1 RBOX R3 includes Rockchip’s new RK3566 SoC, a Quad Core with low-power, 64-bit ARM Cortex-A55 processors that theoretically go up to 1.99 Ghz, with an ARM Mali-G52 2EE GPU and an NPU for iA with a power of 0.8 TOPS. The RAM is 4 GB DDR4, for storage we have different options with 32/64 GB of eMMc memory and we have a micro SD card reader in case we want to expand it.
Other specs
In the area of connectivity we have included Dual Band Wi-Fi aC and Bluetooth 4.1 with internal antenna. The connectors that we find in this box are a USB 3.0 port, another USB 2.0, SPDIF digital audio output, Gigabit Ethernet port and an HDMI 2.0a video output with support for resolutions up to 4k @ 60Hz with which we can use this Box as 4K mediacenter without problems in this regard.
