Mecool KM2 new Android TV-Box this time with Netflix 4K certification


He who follows gets it and it seems that with the Mecool KM2 this brand presents its first Android TV-Box with official Netflix certificate, although in this case we are facing a remarked product for Mecool.

This TV-Box is from the Chinese brand Skyworth one of the manufacturers certified by Netflix in its Hailstorm program and this time it is distributed under the brand Mecool. This new device has Android TV 10 certified by Google, integrated Chromecast and a bluetooth remote control with microphone included for Google Assitant and Google TV type design. The remote control also includes shortcut keys to applications such as Netflix, Amazon Prime Video and Youtube, and we can also install Disney+ and HBO among other apps. A Box that can be interesting, although much will depend on its final price that for now we do not know.

SoC, RAM and storage

The Smart Box Mecool KM2 according to the brand has an AMlogic S905X2-B SoC, a Quad core with ARM Cortex-A53 processors that integrates a Mali-G31 MP2 GPU, this is a specific variant of the Amlogic S905X2 with Dolby audio certificate. The VPU includes HDR, HDR10 and HLG support, although in this case it does not have Dolby Vision. It has 2 GB of DDR4 RAM and only 8 GB of eMMc storage that we can expand with a micro SD card reader that we find between the connectors.

Other specifications

As for wireless connectivity, although it is not specified, we are sure that it has at least Wifi aC and Bluetooth 5.0. The included connectors are a USB 2.0, another USB 3.0, AV connector, IR jack, Ethernet 10/100 and an HDMI 2.1 video output with support for up to 4K@60fps resolutions. As usual will be included HDMI cable, Bluetooth remote control with integrated microphone to use Google Assistant and power supply to be able to use this Smart Box from the first moment.
