MECOOL MEon1, Google TV-certified box with AMlogic S905X5M now available

The new MECOOL MEon1 Android Box is now available in stores, featuring Google TV as its operating system, Netflix certification, and support for the latest video formats.

MECOOL MEon1 googleTVInside, we find the Quad Core Amlogic S905X5M-J processor, which is more powerful than its predecessor, the Amlogic S905X4, and includes compatibility with Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision in this version. This increased power is noticeable in the new Mali-G310 V2 GPU, which doubles its graphics power, as you can see in our review.

A box with 2 GB of RAM and 32 GB of eMMc storage that can be expanded thanks to the micro SD card reader. In terms of wireless connectivity, the MECOOL MEon1 includes Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2. The included connectors are two USB 2.0 ports, a 10/00 network connector, SPDIF digital audio output, and an HDMI 2.1b video output with support for up to 4K@75hz resolution.

This box runs on Google TV and has DRM certification to watch Netflix 4K and similar services such as Prime Video and Disney in high quality. An interesting box, but one that lags far behind the Xiaomi TV Box S (3rd Gen), which offers similar features, a better update policy, and can be purchased at half the price.

As usual, a power supply and a Bluetooth remote control with a microphone for giving commands with Google Assistant and possibly an infrared sensor are included.
