A new SoC aimed at relatively inexpensive handsets with 4G-Lte connectivity, the MediaTek Helio G200, has just been unveiled by the giant Mediatek.
This new Octa Core processor is basically a Mediatek Helio G100, since the differences between the two are practically negligible. Remember that the Helio G100, in turn, was a minimal update of the Helio G99, so in terms of evolution this new Mediatek SoC is very uninteresting.
In the Mediatek Helio G200 we only have some small improvements in the energy efficiency of the camera, a slightly faster GPU and connectivity that will not be noticed in the day to day with respect to the performance that gives us a Mediatek Helio G100 and a Helio G99.

MediaTek Helio G200 Specifications
The MediaTek Helio G200 SoC is an Octa Core manufactured in 6 nm by TSMC. Inside, we have two clusters, the more powerful one with 2 ARM Cortex-A76 processors reaching 2.2 Ghz and the more efficient one with 6 ARM Cortex-A55 processors reaching 2.0 Ghz. The GPU is an Arm Mali-G57 MC2 that now reaches 1.1 Ghz and has support for displays up to 2520 x 1080 pixels at 120 Hz.
For RAM, we have support for LPDDR4X, while storage goes up to UFS 2.2 type. We also have Wi-Fi 5 connectivity, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS and 4G modem. On this chip, the camera controller allows the management of a still camera up to 200 MP, while video capture reaches a maximum resolution of 2K at 30fps.
Availability
- The new MediaTek Helio G200 SoC will soon be available on the market from major Chinese smartphone brands.
