This AMD chip is an efficient Octa Core manufactured in 4mm process, with Phoenix architecture and includes an interesting AMD RADEON 780M GPU of which you can check our review and that gives a very good performance. The MINISFORUM UM790 PRO stands out for incorporating two slots for SDD M.2 NVMe PCIe 4.0, graphic BIOS system, dual ventilation system and a new generation M2 Wifi 6E Intel card.
The MINIS FORUM UM790 PRO also has a USB4 port on the front of the case, with Thunderbolt 3 speeds. Thanks to this reversible USB-C connector we have speeds of up to 40 Gbps, support for connecting an external GPU, video output and PD charging up to 100 W.

The new mini PC MINISFORUM UM790 PRO has a version in which we can opt for a powerful AMD Ryzen 9 7940HS processor manufactured on 4nm with a TDP between 35 and 54 W and cooled by a fan. This chip is an Octa Core with 15 threads that reaches 5.2 Ghz in turbo mode. For graphics, we have an integrated AMD 780M with 12 RDNA 3 GPUs reaching 2.8 Ghz maximum speed.
With the new dual ventilation system we will have better thermals in intensive use, although it will be below the vapor chamber that Beelink mounts in the competition.
As usual, in addition to the barebone version, there are pre-assembled models with 32/64 GB DDR5 5600 Mhz Dual Channel RAM. For storage, we have an installed M.2 NVMe PCIe 4.0 SSD of 512 GB or 1 TB capacity and another connector for a second M.2 NVMe PCIe 4.0 SSD.
Other features
For network connectivity we have a good combo with Intel AX1675 Wifi 6E + Bluetooth 5.3 that reaches up to 2.4 Gbps. We also have a 2.5G RJ45 network. As interfaces we find on the perimeter of the case 4 USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A ports, 3.5 mm audio jack and two HDMI 2.0 video outputs. In addition, we have two USB4 with data output, PD 100 W power supply and DisplayPort 1.4 video.
The small MINIS FORUM UM790 PRO is powered by a small external transformer, a VESA plate is included to anchor it behind any monitor or TV and the operating system is Windows 11 Pro.
