Processor, performance and thermal
This Beelink GTR7 mini PC features the powerful AMD Ryzen 7 7840HS processor manufactured with the TSMC 4nm FinFET process. A chip with 8x Zen 4 cores and 16x threads that moves between 3.8 and 5.1GHz. In the graphics section we have a Radeon 780M GPU that reaches up to 2700 MHz. This chip has a stepped power consumption of 35/45 W TDP officially but by default it is set to 65 W TPD. This mini PC works perfectly for heavy editing applications such as Photoshop, multimedia playback with KODI or IPTV up to 4K, office use and also some demanding 3D games.
As we can see in the performance tests of the new mini PC Beelink GTR7 is in computing power close to its brother Beelink GTR6 6900HX RDNA2 and we can use demanding programs quite smoothly without any problem. The installed GPU Radeon 780M RDNA3 as we can see behaves excellently especially in multicore. In Windows it is advisable to set the power system correctly with: Power plan > high performance.
This Beelink has a cooling system with excellent thermal performance that keeps temperatures under control thanks to its two fans + vapor chamber. It emits very little noise, it is almost inaudible at idle and in games it is audible but not loud enough to have to wear headphones. This APU with its 4nm FinFET is efficient and has a fairly low power consumption for its high performance.
- Power consumption: Off 0.9W / Idle 17W / Basic usage 65W / Max 99W.
- Thermal: Idle 33ºC / Basic usage 43ºC / Maximum 65ºC / CPU 3.6 GHz max / Performance up to 100%.
- Gaming performance: Fornite 67ºC / CPU 2.7 GHz on average.
- Noise: 46dBA Max / Variable RPM / NO Semi-passive.
- Fans: YES can be adjusted in BIOS.
Games
We performed several performance tests on a series of games on the Beelink GTR7, the results as we can see are well above the previous AMD Vega GPUs. The new integrated Radeon 780M GPU is suitable for quite demanding 1080p quality games and it is possible to play if we adjust the load, we can also use the FSR system to improve performance. In the emulator section we can play all Wii, WiiU, PS2, Dreamcast and similar titles, on consoles like Switch or PS3 it is only suitable for some games in the right quality.
- Setting: High quality / 720-1080p resolution / No VSync / Play emulators with RetoArch.
- For more information read our Radeon 600M vs. integrated GPUs comparison.
As we can see in our tests with the AMD Radeon 780M GPU it is possible to play titles like Fornite with medium graphics settings at 1080p without problems, reaching 85 fps in low quality, if we activate TSR at 50% (like FSR of Unreal Engine 5) we already reach 110 fps in low settings. Undoubtedly an integrated GPU that gives us a much more efficient gaming experience than previous Vega GPUs and somewhat more than RDNA2.

Opinion
Once we have tested the Beelink GTR7 mini PC we can confirm that we are in front of a mini PC that thanks to the AMD Ryzen 7 7840HS processor has a high computing power. In addition, thanks to the new Radeon 780M GPU we have a better performance in games through the new RDNA3 architecture. As we have seen, the performance improvement over RDNA2 is significant but not a major revolution.
The cooling system works perfectly with two fans and a very efficient vapor chamber, we will only hear it running heavy games, but it is not annoying. In the Beelink GTR7 we have four video outputs up to 8K, USB-C 4 ports and also a 2.5GB Ethernet port to get the most out of our local network. It stands out for its Wifi 6 + Bluetooth 5.2 adapter with good performance.
We have a very fast 1TB Crucial M.2 2280 NVMe SSD and it is also possible to mount another additional NVMe SSD if we want to expand the storage. In addition for RAM we have two SODIMM DDR5 slots. This attractive computer can be hung from its VESA bracket, offers us fingerprint unlocking system and a very original magnetic charging plug.
As we have seen the Beelink GTR7 is a new small and very powerful computer with new generation RDNA3 GPU. Undoubtedly a good ally if we are looking for something compact and powerful.

I like the GTR7… Mine is orange. But I cannot NO MATTER what I try get HDR to enable! Always says unsupported. Using my older GTR with same cables, TV, etc., even same OS (Windows 11)… HDR works!
