Processor, performance and thermal
This small computer Beelink GTR6 has the powerful AMD Ryzen 9 6900HX processor manufactured with the TSMC 6nm FinFET process. A chip with 8x Zen 3+ cores and 16x threads that moves between 3.3 and 4.9GHz, in the graphics section has a Radeon 680M GPU up to 4800 MHz. This chip has a staggered power consumption of 35/45 W TDP and the results are very good compared to the previous generation. This mini PC works perfectly for heavy editing applications such as Photoshop, multimedia playback with KODI or IPTV up to 4K, office use and somewhat demanding 3D games.
- Performance modes:
– BIOS > Avanzar > Características OEM > Límite de potencia = 45W
– BIOS > Avanzado > AMB CBS > Opciones comunes NBIO > GFX Config > UMA Tamaño del búfer de trama = 8G
As we can see in the performance tests of the new mini PC Beelink GTR6 is in computing power close to his brother Beelink GTR5 5900HX and we can use demanding programs quite smoothly without any problem. The installed GPU Radeon 680M as we can see behaves excellently. In Windows it is advisable to set the power system correctly with: Power plan > high performance.
This computer as we have been able to verify offers excellent thermal performance, the system keeps temperatures under control with its two variable RPM fans. It emits very little noise, at idle it is almost inaudible and in games it is audible but not so loud that we have to wear headphones. This APU with its TSMC 6nm FinFET is efficient and has a fairly low power consumption for its performance.
- Power consumption: Off 0.9W / Idle 8W / Basic use 24W / Maximum 41W.
- Thermal: Idle 40ºC / Basic use 46ºC / Maximum 72ºC / CPU 3.6 GHz max / Performance up to 100%.
- Gaming performance: Fornite 69ºC / CPU 3.2 GHz on average.
- Noise: 46dBA Max / Variable RPM / NO Semi-passive.
- Fans: YES can be adjusted in BIOS.
Games
We ran multiple performance tests on a series of games on the Beelink GTR6, the results as we can see are well above the previous AMD Vega GPUs. The new integrated Radeon 680M GPU is suitable for quite demanding 1080p quality games and it is possible to play multiple demanding games in 3D load, we can also use the FSR system to improve performance. In the emulator section we can play all Wii, PS2, Dreamcast and similar titles, on consoles like Switch or PS3 it is only suitable for simple games.
- Setting: High quality / 720-1080p resolution / No VSync / Play emulators with RetoArch.
- For more information read our Radeon 600M vs. integrated GPUs comparison.
As we can see the AMD Radeon 680M GPU is possible to play titles like Fornite without problems with medium graphics settings at 1080p reaching about 60 fps in low quality, if we activate TSR at 50% (like FSR of Unreal Engine 5) we already reach 100 fps in low settings. Undoubtedly an integrated GPU that gives us a much more efficient gaming experience than the previous Vega GPU.
- BIOS setting to improve performance:
– BIOS > Avanzar > Características OEM > Límite de potencia = 45W
– BIOS > Avanzado > AMB CBS > Opciones comunes NBIO > GFX Config > UMA Tamaño del búfer de trama = 8G
Video and audio tests
Playback test
In terms of video playback the Beelink GTR6 with the AMD Radeon 680M GPU has a VPU capable of hardware decoding for HEVC and VP9 codecs and modern AV1. This processor has support for 10bit color and native HDR support by default (not Dolby Vision) and the ability to output up to 8K resolutions. This hardware is perfectly valid as a multimedia system to use KODI, IPTV or to use it with the PLEX app for example.
- Video outputs: 2x HDMI 2.0 + USB Type-C / HDR10 / Adjust image quality in our monitor.
- Audio outputs: HDMI up to 7.1 / Stereo audio jack.
- Tutorials: 4K videos with HEVC, VP9 / Install KODI with add-ons / Auto refresh rate / Multichannel audio on Windows

Opinion
After testing the Beelink GTR6 mini PC we can say that this is a powerful mini PC in all aspects. This computer offers us thanks to the AMD Ryzen 9 6900HX processor a high computing power, plus the new Radeon 680M GPU gives us a better gaming performance. Thanks to the new RDNA2 architecture and the performance improvement offered by the FSR system by reducing the internal resolution we have much more performance.
In the new Beelink GTR6 we have four 4K video outputs and also a 2.5GB Ethernet port to get the most out of our local network. In addition this computer stands out for its Wifi 6E + BT 5.2 adapter with good performance.
Inside we also have a very fast Kingston M.2 2280 NVMe 500GB SSD, it is also possible to mount a SATA 3 M.2 disk. In addition for RAM we have two SODIMM DDR5 slots that allow for easy expansion. The cooling system that works perfectly with two fans that we will only hear when running heavy games, is not annoying in the day to day. This small computer can be hung on its VESA bracket or hidden anywhere on our desk without disturbing.
As we have seen the Beelink GTR6 is a new mini PC with powerful CPU and GPU. Thanks to the new RDNA2 GPU technology combined with the FSR system we can play more graphically demanding titles.
