The latest Minix mini PC, the MINIX NEO J50C-4 Max, begins to appear in Chinese stores. A small computer that we could test thoroughly in our Review in its 4GB version.
With this increase in its RAM and storage to 240 GB we have a much more interesting product to use from the first moment without having to expand it. This mini PC has a Pentium Silver J5005 processor that offers excellent performance for any desktop and highlights its three video outputs capable of reaching resolutions 4K @ 60fps at once.
Processor, RAM and storage
The MINIX NEO J50C-4 Max includes as engine a Pentium Silver J5005, a Quad Core x86 manufactured in 14 nm capable of reaching 2.8GHz speed and integrating an Intel HD 605 GPU. It also includes 8 GB of DDR4 RAM that occupy one of the 2 SODIMM sockets where we can install up to 16 GB, as a novelty in this version we now have a 240 GB SSD SATA3 pre-installed in its internal M.2 2280 slot. The ventilation of the device is very careful and has a silent fan and a large heatsink to minimize the use of it.
Other specifications
Regarding wireless connectivity we have an adapter that includes Dual Band WiFi aC and Bluetooth 4.1. In the area of connectivity we have 3 USB 3.0 ports, 3.5 mm SPDIF jack / analog audio, Gigabit Ethernet port, HDMI 2.0a output, miniDP port and finally a USB Type-C connector.
As operating system we have Windows 10 Pro 64bits and the box includes a Kensington anchor, reset and power button. A VESA support is included which allows us to mount and dismount the mini PC without using screws. This mini PC has different ways of remote or programmed ignition thinking in industrial uses or digital signage.
