New firmware for the Android Box MINIX NEO U8K-ULTRA, a hardware that we saw recently in our review with good results.
This high-end TV-Box mounts the AMlogic S928X-K SoC, integrates an AI accelerator capable of automatically scaling low quality video in 480p, 720p and 1080p resolutions. It includes certification for viewing content with Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos technology, a differential point compared to the competition. The operating system is Android 11 AOSP with automatic OTA updates (it is not Android TV) and includes Widevine L1 DRM support for viewing in good quality on multiple streaming services.
In this update have been added remote control with Google TV app. Also, Refresh Rate Switching has been added., 25 fps and 29.97 fps refresh modes have been added, plus smooth video playback of 23,976 fps at 60 Hz output, HDMI-CEC and HDR support enhancements among others as well.

Thanks to the Minix OTA system we can automatically download and update the new firmware for this device. We can also choose to install the firmware manually if we do not have internet access.
