The MINIX NEO U8K-ULTRA Android Box is now on sale, featuring the powerful Amlogic S928X processor and receiving a considerable discount on its first announced price.
Inside this new high-end TV-Box we find the AMlogic S928X-K SoC that we saw in a review, this has an AI accelerator capable of automatically scaling low quality video in 480p, 720p and 1080p resolutions. In addition, this K version includes certification for viewing content with Dolby Vision technology and compatibility with the Dolby Atmos audio system, a differential point compared to the competition. The operating system is Android 11 AOSP with automatic OTA updates (it is not Android TV).
According to the specifications, DRM Widevine L1 support is included for good quality streaming services using official apps.

This new Android TV-Box is powered by the Penta Core Amlogic S928X-K processor manufactured in 12 nm. A chip with a high performance ARM Cortex-A76 core accompanied by 4 ARM Cortex-A55 cores. The iGPU we have in this Amlogic is an ARM-G57 MC2 with support for OpenGL ES 3.2, Vulkan 1.2 and OpenCL 2.0. It also includes support for HDR10, HDR10, HLG, AV1, VP9, H.265 and AVS3 among others. We also have a 3.2 TOPS AI accelerator with support for TensorFlow and Caffe.
This TV-Box has 8 GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 128 GB of eMMc 5.1 storage memory. A micro SD card reader is also included in case we want to expand the storage with up to 256 GB extra.

Wireless connectivity included is WIFI 6 2×2 MIMO with an internal antenna and Bluetooth 5.2.
