MIYOO mini FLIP, a new foldable console now available

The MIYOO mini FLIP mini console is now available, a simple emulation hardware that offers a very comfortable and attractive design.

This machine is a version of the MIYOO mini but with a clamshell format and certain improvements in terms of general hardware. As we can see, it is inspired by the popular Game Boy Advance SP. On the front, there is a 2.8″ IPS screen in 4:3 format, and the set of controls is very similar to that of the Nintendo. The operating system is Linux, and a series of emulators for PS1, CPS1, CPS2, FBA, NEOGEO, GBA, GBC, GB, SFC, FC, etc. are included by default.

This retro console is a good alternative if you are looking for something easily portable with a compact design. When folded, it can fit in any pocket so you can carry it with you without even noticing.

MIYOO mini FLIP specifications

The small MIYOO mini FLIP retro console features a 2.8-inch IPS screen with a good resolution of 750 × 560 pixels. To run the emulated titles, it has a Cortex-A7 Dual Core SoC that reaches up to 1.2 GHz. This hardware is sufficient to run 16-bit consoles, even PS1, but perhaps with somewhat low fps in demanding games.

The motherboard has 1 GB of integrated RAM. The operating system is Retroarch Linux, which can get more performance out of this limited hardware than Android. In addition, there is a fairly large community behind it to improve it.

In terms of controls, it has a directional pad, four front buttons, four rear buttons, Start and Select buttons, and a menu button. In terms of connectivity, it has 2.4G Wi-Fi, a micro SD card reader, and a USB Type-C charging port for its removable 2500 mAh internal battery. The audio section is discreet, with a single small 1W speaker on the front with perforations.
