The MSI brand has unveiled its new Cubi NUC AI 3MG mini PCs. These computers are jumping on the bandwagon to promote AI, but they don’t offer much power to do so.
These new mini PCs feature 3rd generation Intel Core Ultra processors manufactured with Intel Panther Lake technology. Curiously, these machines offer slightly less AI power than previous models in the same family, which is a peculiar move. They also offer other interesting specifications, such as the inclusion of internal speaker, microphone, 2.5G Ethernet ports, and fingerprint unlocking on the front.
Thanks to their small size, they can be placed in any corner of the office or workshop. They can also be mounted behind a monitor thanks to the included VESA mount.
Specifications of the MSI Cubi NUC AI 3MG
Inside the small MSI Cubi NUC AI 3MG Copilot PCs, there are three processor options, solutions that are part of the new 3rd Generation Core Ultra with high and low-performance cores. The manufacturing process is the efficient Intel 18A, which ensures high efficiency.
- Intel Core Ultra 9 386H with 16 cores 4P 8E 4LPE 4.9GHz, Intel HD GPU, TPD 15/25/80W, AI 40 TOPS
- Intel Core Ultra 7 355 with 8 cores 4P 4E 4.7GHz, Intel HD GPU, TPD 12/25/55W, AI 40 TOPS
- Intel Core Ultra 5 322 with 6 cores 2P 4E 4.4GHz, Intel HD GPU, TPD 12/25/55W, AI 18 TOPS
These mini PCs will be available in different versions combining RAM and storage. The motherboard features soldered DDR5 6400 MT/s memory up to 128 GB. For storage, there is a connector for SSD M.2 NVMe 2280 PCI 5 with one drive installed.
Other notable features
In terms of wireless connectivity, there is an adapter up to Wi-Fi 6E/7 BT 5.x with internal antennas. There are two USB-A 3.2 ports, a micro SD port, an audio jack, and a power button with an integrated fingerprint reader. At the rear, there are two 2.5G Ethernet network ports, two USB-A 2.0 ports, and two USB-C Thunderbolt 4 ports. In total, there are three video outputs: the HDMI 2.1 connector and the two USB-C ports allow you to connect to three displays in 4K@60fps HDR quality.
A VESAmount can be attached to the rear, and an external power supply is included. We were also surprised by the inclusion of a microphone and speaker inside the case and a fingerprint reader on the power button. These computers are perfect for desktops, industrial use, or signage.
