onn. Google TV Full HD Streaming Device, new $15 Android TV-Stick

From Walmart comes information about their new onn. Google TV Full HD Streaming Device, a very affordable certified Android TV-Stick.

Today we found in Walmart stores in the US a really cheap little Stick, which is a new reduced version of the popular micro Box onn. Google TV 4K Streaming Box. An Android TV Stick that includes as main novelty a Quad Core SoC Amlogic S805X2 accompanied by 1.5 GB of RAM. The connectors are logically very limited, something normal in a device completely oriented to FullHD streaming and that has the Google certification. We will see it soon in a detailed review.

A media player that competes with the Xiaomi MI TV Stick 4K or the Google Chromecast TV HD but with a much lower price.

Specifications of the onn. Google TV Full HD Streaming Device

The onn. Google TV Full HD Streaming Device includes a 12nm AMlogic S805X2 processor. This chip is a Quad Core with ARM Cortex-A35 processors and a Mali-G31 MP2 GPU. This SoC supports decoding of the AV1 4K codec, but is limited to 1080p video output.

The on-board RAM memory is 1.5 GB DDR4 while for storage we have only 8 GB eMMc, so we will only be able to install a few apps. It will be possible to expand the internal memory, we will need a microUSB OTG cable and a USB HUB to connect a pendrive.

Other notable features

For wireless connectivity we have Wifi 5 and Bluetooth 5.0. The connectors are limited, we only have a micro USB 2.0 OTG port for power and an HDMI 2.0a video connector. This Stick allows us to play up to 1080p HDR10 resolution and supports basic Dolby audio sound.

The operating system of this onn. is pure Google TV 11 without any customization. It includes a Bluetooth remote control where we have direct access buttons to Netflix, Disney and Paramount. It also integrates a microphone for voice functions with its corresponding shortcut key for the Google Assistant.
