OPPO’s new mid-range smartphone, the Reno16t, has just been unveiled in China. It’s a fairly compact device whose main strength lies in its camera sensors, as it features a 200 MP main camera supported by a 50 MP telephoto lens and a 50 MP wide-angle lens.
Its body features IP69K-certified protection and weighs 190 grams—quite light considering its large battery. As befits a high-end mid-range device, it features a 6.78-inch AMOLED display and a powerful MediaTek Dimensity 8550 processor, a recently launched SoC that’s an improvement over the Dimensity 8500—which, to give you a reference, scores approximately 2,450,000 points on Antutu v11.
RAM options include 12/16 GB of LPDDR5X, and storage options include 256/512 GB of UFS 3.1. The display panel used by this OPPO is a 6.32-inch AMOLED with a resolution of 2,640 x 1,216 pixels, a maximum brightness of 3,600 nits, and a 120 Hz refresh rate.
For selfies, there’s a 16 MP front-facing camera that complements the rear cameras, which include a 200 MP main sensor with OIS,a 50 MP 3.5x telephoto lens, and a 50 MP wide-angle lens. It also features an in-display fingerprint reader, 5G connectivity with Dual SIM, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, an infrared sensor, and GPS.
In terms of ports, there’s a USB Type-C port for data transfer and charging, and the battery is a 6,700 mAh unit with fast charging up to 80 W. For audio, there are two speakers, and the operating system is Android 16 with the brand’s ColorOS 10.0 skin, which comes packed with AI tools.
