PELADN Link S, new external Dock for your GPU and power supply

Today we find two new docks for external GPUs called PELADN Link S, an option that allows us to reuse our power supply as well.

On sale we have two versions, the PELADN Link S-1 that offers a 40 Gbps USB port and another called PELADN Link S-2 with 64 Gbps Oculink connector. It also has a docking area and connectors for a standard ATX power supply, it is not an eGPU dock with integrated power supply like others we have seen. The case also offers an M.2 2280 PCIe socket for adding a disk and Gigabit Ethernet port, although we recommend not using them to avoid limiting the output bandwidth.

This connection system for external graphics cards is compatible with any mini PC or laptop. The graphics power for gaming will be multiplied as we have seen in our eGPU guide.

PELADN Link S technical specifications

The new PELADN Link S-1 dock offers a USB-C data output port that reaches speeds of 40 Gbps. While the PELADN Link S-2 variant offers an Oculink connection port that can reach up to 64 Gbps. As always, we recommend opting for the fastest version we can and using the appropriate cables.

If we want to use this eGPU system we need a mini PC or computer with an Oculink or USB4 connector. When we give it power it will automatically be detected as the new main graphics of our system, games or applications will use it by default.

Other notable features

The box in its upper area behind the GPU has an area to place our ATX or SFX power supply, so we can use one of our own that we have available. The installation of this Dock seems to be quite clean, especially if we use a modular power supply eliminating secondary cables.

On the front we have the power button and output connectors. In this same face we have several holes to fix the power supply. In the rear area under a cover we have the socket for the M.2 2280 PCIe disk that we can use as an external drive.
