The new 2 in 1 PIPO W12 is already available in Chinese stores and surprises us by running Windows 10 ARM, under emulation, with an Octa Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 850 SoC.
A small 2 in 1 with mobility by flag, with a minimum weight, only 790 grams, battery with an autonomy that can reach up to 13 h, 4G-Lte modem to be always connected and keyboard with Stylus included. It is certainly interesting that Chinese manufacturers decide to launch this type of laptops, although in this case with an already outdated chip, but it is still a small preview of what we will see in a couple of years when ARM-based chips will certainly have a piece of the cake so far exclusive of x86 processors and more considering the current bad times for Intel and the acquisition of ARM by Nvidia.
SoC, RAM and Storage
The engine of the PIPO W12 is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 850 SoC manufactured in 10nm, with eight Kryo 385 cores (modified Cortex-A75) that reach up to 2.95 Ghz and an Adreno 630 GPU. We also have on board 8 GB of DDR4 RAM, a 256 GB SSD and we have a slot for micro SD cards.
Display and other specifications
The screen of the PIPO W12 is a 12.3-inch IPS with a resolution of 2880 x 1920 pixels that includes a 5MP webcam with microphone on top and a 13MP webcam on the back. We also have dual-band Wifi aC connectivity with Bluetooth 5.0 and a 3.7 V/10000 mAh battery.
In terms of connectors we have a USB Type-C port, 3.5 mm audio jack, SD card reader, dedicated charging port and a SIM slot that allows us to use the X20 4G LTE modem that mounts this SoC.
