Redmi Pad Pro, 12.1″ mid-range budget tablet introduced

It has just been presented in China the new Redmi Pad Pro a mid-range tablet whereas always in this sub-brand of Xiaomi the price is one of its great attractions.

This tablet that leaves far behind the original Redmi Pad, with among others a larger screen, as this grows from 10.6 inches to 12.1 with a refresh rate of 120 Hz and a 2.5K resolution. Following the philosophy of this brand, the SoC is a mid-range as is the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 capable of moving most apps and games without problems and that as a reference has a score of about 700,000 points in Antutu.

As a system we have the intrusive Xiaomi HyperOS layer based on Android 14, and we find a metal body with a thickness of 7.52 mm and a weight of 571 grams.

The Redmi Pad Pro tablet includes a powerful SoC Snapdragon 7s Gen 2, an Octa Core manufactured in 4 nm. This is a chip with 4 ARM Kryo processors that reach 2.4 Ghz and 4 ARM Kryo-A720 that reach up to 1.95 GHz. In the graphics section, we have integrated GPU ADRENO 710 that reaches 1.3 Ghz and allows us to play demanding titles with total fluidity. A SoC that has a score in Antutu v9 of about 700,000 points.

The RAM memory we have soldered on board is 6 /8 GB LPDDR4x that allows us to load multiple apps or navigation tabs. For storage, we have options with 128/256 GB of high-speed UFS 2.2 expandable by micro SD card up to 1.5 TB.

Display and other notable features

The screen of the Redmi Pad Pro is a 12.1″ IPS, with a resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixels with Dolby Vision support, 600 nits brightness, 1500:1 contrast and a configurable refresh rate of up to 120 Hz. A screen that is protected with a CORNING GORILLA GLASS 3 glass, able to avoid many scratches. In the photographic section in the rear area we have an 8 MP camera, while in the front area we have an 8 MP FHD camera.

For audio, we have four Dolby Atmos compatible speakers and two microphones with noise reduction. The battery is 10000 mAh with 33 W fast charging. For wireless connectivity we have Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.4 and as a connector we find USB-C 2.0 ports and 3.5 mm audio jack in case we want to connect headphones.

  • The new Redmi Pad Pro tablet can be purchased in China for a starting price of around $235 at the exchange rate. It will soon be available on AliExpress, and in the West it will arrive under the POCO brand umbrella.
