Rockchip shows its SoC’s with Android 8.1 and presents us their new devices

From the Global Sources Electronics Fair 2018 in Hong Kong we get interesting information about Rockchip products, this time the company has announced the support for Android 8.1 in its most actual SoC’s. Few days ago we saw the first TV-Box that has installed Android Oreo by default something that gave clear clues that the SDK was already available to compile the latest version of the Google system in this type of hardware, now the news is already official and we just have to wait for the updated firmwares to appear.

The SoC that have been shown with support Android 8.1 Oreo for now are the entry model Rockchip RK3126C, the mid-range RK3326 and the more powerful models RK3368, RK3288 and RK3399 but surely add more to the list, for now these are the ones focused on the tablet sector but it is sure that it extends to the missing ones designed for the TV-Box. This new version of Android we have performance improvements, more customizable notifications, image support in image by default (PiP) that allows you to put videos in the background in a floating window and various security settings.

On the other hand we see for the first time the SoC Rockchip RK3308 a Quad Core model with ARM Cortex-A35 processors for intelligent speakers that we had already seen announced, a range of products that is rapidly expanding in the market. We also have the SoC RK3326 Quad Core Cortex-A35 which in this case is intended for smart screens, a solution that we can find for example in interior mirrors where we can provide additional information.
