Today we present one of the few Boxes that include a 4G-LTE multiband modem in the market that comes to us under the name of T96G. A Box that stands out for its unusual external shape and for integrating an external 4G antenna, something that surely gives some very interesting extra features for certain remote areas where we do not have WiFi coverage or we are not interested in connecting to wireless networks and that the equipment works at the level of networks autonomously.
Basic Review
In addition to the extra features provided by an integrated 4G-LTE modem, this Box can be used as a media player with KODI and to play simple games without too much pretension. It must be remembered that this type of Box does not have guaranteed updates support and does not have DRM certificates, so we can only see Netflix in basic quality. SoC, RAM and storage
The T96G Box includes like heart the S905W SoC of Amlogic that has four ARM Cortex-A53 of 64 bit able to arrive until the 1.5GHz and a GPU Mali-450mp5 layer of taking video with a maximum resolution of 4K to 30fps. Integrated on the board we find 2 GB of DDR3 RAM and 8 GB of storage memory type eMMc that can be extended thanks to the microSD card reader that includes this equipment in one of its sides of its box.
Other specifications
At the level of wireless connectivity we find a dual-band Wi-Fi adapter with internal antenna and Bluetooth 4.1. As for connectors the plastic box has on its sides 3 USB 2.0 ports, SD card reader, an HDMI 2.0a, 10/100 fast Ethernet network port, SIM slot for thr 4G-LTE multi-band modem and to finish a 3,5mm connector for analog for audio and video output.
