Today we found on AliExpress the first 8-inch tablet manufactured with the Rockchip RK3568 SoC, a chip from a brand that has been out of this sector for a long time and that seems to be trying again with tablets.
This tablet includes the new Rockchip RK3568 SoC, which until now we had only seen exclusively in development boards and which is framed in the low-mid range by specifications. The design of this tablet looks robust, the screen has good resolution, but does not stand out for much else. As operating system we have integrated the new Android 11 that will extend its life, while in the hardware section we find a pair of speakers and RAM memory of 4/6 GB RAM, something that will help us to manage Android smoothly and that can be worth to consume multimedia, all kinds of apps and games although these without much graphic demand.
Hardware specifications that, as you will see, do not match its starting price, which is totally crazy, although it will surely drop soon.
SoC, RAM and storage
This new tablet has the Rockchip RK3568 SoC from Rockchip, a Quad Core with ARM Cortex-A55 processors with low power consumption and 64 bits that reach up to 1.99 Ghz, with a Mali-G52 MP2 GPU and an NPU for iA with a power of 0.8 TOPS. A SoC very similar to the RK3366 that we have already seen in a review, with some changes that affect the internal storage, connectivity and some little crucial section for the average user.
We also have integrated on the motherboard 4/6 GB of LPDDR4 RAM and options of 64/128 GB of high-speed storage memory eMMc 5.1 that we can expand thanks to the micro SD card reader included on one side with cards up to 128 GB.
Display and other specifications
The touch screen of this tablet is an 8-inch IPS with an HD+ resolution of 1200×1920 pixels, it also includes a 5 MP front camera with microphone that complements the 8 MP rear with flash, quite more powerful than normal in this range. We also have wireless connectivity wifi aC and Bluetooth 5.0 that will give us some quality in this aspect.
We also have a 3.85 V, 4500 mhA battery that will give us about 6 hours of use and includes fast charging up to 5V 3A. In terms of connectors we find a single USB Type-C port for data, battery charging and audio.
