A new mid-range 4G device has just been unveiled, the TECNO CAMON 50 Pro, a fairly comprehensive smartphone, but one that will probably not make it to Europe.
This smartphone comes with an IP69K-certified body and a good 6.78-inch AMOLED screen. Powering this TECNO device is an Octa Core Mediatek Helio G200 processor, basically a Mediatek Helio G100, with a 10% faster iGPU and some other internal improvements that do not affect its final performance.
This device comes with 8 GB of RAM, NFC, and, in terms of photography, a 50 MP main camera and a 3x optical zoom, also 50 MP, which is unusual in a 4G device. Finally, the operating system is Android 16 with the HIOS 16 layer and a physical button to access the iA TECNO AI area, where we have all kinds of tools.

Powering this device is the MediaTek Helio G200 SoC, an Octa Core manufactured in 6 nm by TSMC. Inside, there are two clusters, the most powerful with two ARM Cortex-A76 processors reaching 2.2 GHz and the most efficient with six ARM Cortex-A55 processors reaching 2.0 GHz. The GPU is an Arm Mali-G57 MC2 that now reaches 1.1 GHz.
For RAM, we have 8 GB LPDDR4X, which allows us to load multiple apps or browser tabs, with virtual memory reaching 16 GB. For storage, we have 256 GB, expandable by micro SD card with up to 2 TB extra.
Screen, cameras, and other features
The screen is a 6.78-inch AMOLED panel with a resolution of 2644×1208 pixels, a refresh rate of 144 Hz, a maximum brightness of 4500 nits, and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 7i. In terms of photography, it has a 32 MP front camera, a 50 MP SONY OIS main rear camera, 50 MP 3x optical zoom, and 8 MP wide angle.
It has wireless connectivity, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.4, GPS, an infrared sensor, FM radio, NFC, and a 4G-LTE modem with Dual SIM. For connectivity, there is a USB Type-C 2.0 OTG port and a 3.5 mm audio jack. The battery is 6150 mAh with 45 W fast and smart charging, and for audio, there are two integrated speakers with Dolby Atmos.
Price and availability
- The new TECNO CAMON 50 Pro smartphone will go on sale in the coming weeks at a price of around $340.
