This Smart Box with Android 11 has a box where an external Wi-Fi antenna and its good perforations for cooling stand out. A Box that is able to decode the AV1 codec thanks to the presence of the Amlogic S905X4 SoC. This is an Android Box suitable for use as a media player up to 4K video resolutions, to run games and many emulators without problems. However, it is not very suitable for use with paid streaming platforms, due to the fact that it does not have certificates to display them in the best video quality, for that we have other alternatives.
A Box with above average quality and that has also received some firmware support from the brand.
TOX3 Specifications
The Android Box TOX3 is powered by the AMlogic S905X4 processor manufactured in 12 nm. This chip is a Quad Core with low power ARM Cortex-A55 processors that theoretically reach 2 GHz speed and integrates a Mali-G31 MP2 GPU. The VPU includes 4K@60fps, HDR, HDR10 and HLG support, and you can read our review of the S905X4 compared to other processors for more information.
In the store, we have different a version with 4 GB of DDR3 RAM soldered on board and 32 GB of eMMc storage. We also find a micro SD card reader where we can insert up to 64 GB cards to expand the internal memory.
Other notable features
In the wireless connectivity section, we have dual band Wi-Fi aC with external antenna and Bluetooth 4.1. The connectors included on the sides of its plastic case are a USB 2.0 port, another USB 3.0 port, 3.5 mm analog audio and video output connector, SPDIF digital audio output, RJ45 Gigabit Ethernet interface to connect via cable and an HDMI 2.0 video output that can output video up to 4K resolutions at 60fps.
As usual, the TOX3 includes HDMI cable, power supply and a basic IR remote control to be able to use this box right out of the box.
