This Smart Box already arrives with Android 11 and has a configuration very similar to that of TOX1, from which the box is reused and where an external Wi-Fi antenna and good perforations for cooling stand out. A Box that is capable of decoding the AV1 codec thanks to the presence of the S905X4 SoC and that will soon be compatible with EmuELEC. This is a suitable Android Box to be used as a media player up to 4K, to run games and many emulators.
However, it is not suitable for use with paid streaming platforms, due to the fact that it does not have certificates to view them in the best video quality, for that we have other alternatives.
The Box TOX3 includes the AMlogic S905X4 processor manufactured in 12nm as its engine. This chip is a Quad Core with low-power ARM Cortex-A55 processors that theoretically reach 2 GHz speed and integrates a Mali-G31 MP2 GPU. The VPU includes 4K@60fps, HDR, HDR10 and HLG support, and you can read our review of the S905X4 compared to other processors for more information.
In the store we have different versions with 2/4 GB of DDR3 RAM memory soldered on the board, 16/32 GB of eMMc storage to choose from and a micro SD card reader where we can connect up to 64 GB cards to expand the internal memory.
In the wireless connectivity section, the two versions of this new Android Box have dual-band Wi-Fi AC with external antenna and Bluetooth 4.1. The connectors included on the sides of its plastic box are a USB 2.0 port, another USB 3.0, SPDIF digital audio output, RJ45 Gigabit Ethernet interface to connect it via cable and an HDMI 2.0 video output that can output video in up to 4K resolutions at 60fps.
As usual, the TOX3 includes HDMI cable, power supply and a basic IR remote control to be able to use this Box from the first moment right out of the box.
