A new entry-level box has been spotted on AliExpress, this time called TOX4 and based on the cheap Rockchip RK3528 SoC.
A box that follows in the footsteps of other TOX boxes in terms of box design, with a front LED panel and a good grille to promote ventilation. Inside we have as engine a Rockchip RK3528 SoC, a very simple processor, valid for multimedia playback and run apps and games with low resource demands.
The operating system is Android 13, and we assume that it will have integrated Root and autostar functions among others, as in the rest of the Smart Boxes of this brand. A Box that in theory can receive a firmware update and that at least has a Gigabit network connector, in case we plan to connect it to the cable network.
TOX4 Specifications
The heart of the TOX4 smart Box is the new low-priced Rockchip RK3528 SoC. This chip is a Quad Core with low power consumption ARM Cortex-A53 processors and a modest ARM MALI-450 MP2 GPU of which we do not know its clock speed.
For RAM, we have a single version with 4 GB DDR3 and 32 GB of eMMc storage. We also have a micro SD card reader so we can always expand the storage memory up to 64 GB extra.
Other notable features
In the field of wireless connectivity, we have Dual Band Wi-Fi aC with internal antenna and Bluetooth 5.0. As connectors, we find in its small quadrangular plastic box a USB 2.0 port, another USB 3.0, Gigabit network connector and an HDMI 2.0 video output port that allows us to output video up to 4K@60fps resolutions.
With the TV-Box TOX4 is included in the pack an RF remote control that includes microphone and gyroscopes, power supply that goes to a USB Type-C port and HDMI cable to start using this Box.
