With the new Octa Core Allwinner H728 processor now available, the Quad Core Allwinner H618 takes a step down in price and this is noticeable in new TV-Boxes like the TX90 PRO.
A multimedia box that seems to have Android TV 13 as operating system, although in an unofficial version and where we will have the Android TV app store, more limited than Google. Its processor is an Allwinner H618, a minimal evolution of the Allwinner H616, which can be used as a 4K media player or for apps of all kinds, games, and emulators up to Dreamcast.
For the TX90 PRO it is better not to count on updates and remember that it is not suitable for watching video in maximum quality in the apps of paid streaming platforms such as Netflix. A Box that can also be used as a content receiver because we can broadcast from our smartphone, since it is compatible with DNLA, AirPlay and Miracast.
TX90 PRO Specifications
Inside the Android TV-Box TX90 PRO, we find as main engine an Allwinner H618 processor designed in 28 nm. This is a chip that integrates 4 ARM Cortex-A53 low power processors capable of reaching 1.5 Ghz and an ARM Mali-G31 MP2 GPU.
Of this Android Box, we have a version with 2 GB of RAM DDR3 and 16 GB of storage memory eMMc. We can use a micro SD card slot on the side of its plastic case to expand the storage up to 128 GB, at least.
In terms of wireless connectivity, we have Wi-Fi 5 with internal antenna and Bluetooth 5.2. As connectors, we find in its plastic case 2 USB 2.0 ports, 10/100 network connector, audio, and analogue video output jack and an HDMI 2.0a video output port that allows us to output video up to 4K@60fps resolutions.
The TX90 PRO comes with a Bluetooth remote control, power supply and HDMI cable so you can start using this box just by taking it out of the box and connecting it to your TV.
