UGOOS X4Q, new Android Box with Amlogic S905X4

We already have the new UGOOS X4Q Android Box family available on AliExpress, which comes in three different versions, but all with the AMlogic S905X4 SoC inside.

The three versions share a box with an external design, but internally the UGOOS X4Q CUBE is the simplest version with only 2/16 GB, followed by the UGOOS X4Q PRO with 4/32 GB, and finally we have the UGOOS X4Q PLUS with 4 /64 GB. Highlight of these Box is its Gigabit Ethernet port and its software improvements that include #root selector, HD CEC, SAMBA server and Widevine L1 certification that ensures we can play content from HBO Max, Amazon Prime Video or Disney+ in 1080P quality.

Some Boxes with Android 11 more complete than usual in some aspects, but also at a much higher price.

Specifications of the UGOOS X4Q

The UGOOS X4Q Smart Boxes include the AMlogic S905X4 processor manufactured in 12nm as an engine. This chip is a Quad Core with low-power ARM Cortex-A55 processors that theoretically reach 2 GHz speed and integrates a Mali-G31 MP2 GPU. The VPU includes 4K@60fps, HDR, HDR10, HLG and AV1 support, and you can read our review of the S905X4 compared to other processors for more information.

We find 2/4 GB of LPDDR4 RAM memory soldered on board and 16/32/64 GB of eMMc storage. If we want to expand the internal memory, we can use the micro SD card reader that supports cards up to 32 GB.

Other features

In the wireless connectivity section, all versions of this new Android Box have Wi-Fi aC 2T2R MiMO and Bluetooth 5.0 LE. The connectors included on the sides of its plastic case are a USB 3.0 port, a USB 2.0 Type-C OTG, SPDIF digital audio output, RJ45 Gigabit Ethernet interface to connect via cable and an HDMI 2.0 video output that can output video up to 4K resolutions at 60fps.

The UGOOS X4Q include HDMI cable, power supply and a Bluetooth remote control with a new design to be able to use this Box from the first moment, right out of the box.

Way too expensive. We can find S905X4 boxes with gigabit Ethernet and 4gb RAM for $100 CAD flat, cash, at any IPTV shop here in Canada. This isn’t worth it, at all.
