V96PRO a new low-end box with S905W SoC

The S905W SoC from Amlogic continues to be mounted in many of the low-end multimedia boxes that arrive in stores like the new V96PRO. This mediaplayer is another of the boxes of this category that comes with its plastic quadrangular box with a configuration that does not distinguish it practically from other Boxes with Android of this price. No news in a box that is still pulling Android 7.1.

Basic analysis

This TV-Box can be used as a basic mediaplayer with KODI and you can also play simple games without too much graphic pretension. It must be remembered that this type of cheap Box does not have guaranteed updates support and does not have DRM certificates, so we can only see Netflix in the basic quality. SoC, RAM and storage

The Box with Android V96PRO integrates at the hardware level the SoC of Amlogic S905W, a Quad Core with ARM Cortex-A53 processors and a MALI-450MP5 GPU. It has 1 / 2GB of DDR3 RAM, 8 / 16GB of eMMc storage memory and a microSD card reader located on one side of the black plastic box that allows us to increase its internal storage.

Other specifications

At the level of wireless connectivity we only have b/g/n WiFi with internal antenna as it does not have Bluetooth. As for connectors includes 2 USB 2.0 ports, HDMI 2.0b port, 10/100 network connector and finally an analog port for audio and video, a fairly simple configuration in this regard.

Also included in the box is a basic infrared remote control, cables and power supply.
