The popular VIVO brand continues to launch new smartphones for all budgets, and today we have just announced its new VIVO Y51 Pro 5G.
A relatively affordable device with a 6.75″ screen that basically stands out for its good 7000 mAh battery and IP68/IP69 dust and water certifications. Inside, we have a mid-range Mediatek Dimensity 7360-Turbo processor, a new, slightly more powerful variant of the Mediatek Dimensity 7300. The rest of its specifications are nothing to write home about; we can only hope that it will arrive in the West with NFC enabled.
The operating system is Android 16 with the Origin OS 6 layer, which integrates various AI-powered tools, such as photo editing.
VIVO Y51 Pro 5G specifications
The SoC chosen for this new device is a Meditek Dimensity 7360-Turbo, an Octa Core manufactured in 4 nm. This is a chip with 4 ARM Cortex-A78 processors reaching 2.5 GHz and 4 ARM Cortex-A55 processors reaching 2.0 GHz. In terms of graphics, it has an integrated ARM Mali-G615 MC2 GPU and, finally, a MediaTek APU 655 for artificial intelligence tasks.
The RAM integrated into the board is 8 GB LPDDR4X, which allows us to load multiple apps or browser tabs. For storage, we have options with 128/256 GB UFS 3.1, although this time it is not expandable via micro SD card.
Screen and other features
The VIVO Y51 Pro 5G has a 6.75″ IPS screen with a resolution of 1570 x 720 pixels, brightness of up to 1250 nits, and a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz. In terms of photography, it has a 50 MP main rear camera supported by a 2 MP auxiliary camera and an LED flash, while the front has an 8 MP camera.
For audio, there are two speakers, and the battery is 7200 mAh with fast charging up to 44 W. For connectivity, there is Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.4, GPS, and a 5G modem with Dual SIM. As for interfaces, there is a USB-C port, and the fingerprint reader to unlock the smartphone is integrated under the screen.
Price and availability
- The new VIVO Y51 Pro 5G will be available for purchase internationally in a few weeks at a price that is yet to be announced.
