Today we found on AliExpress a generic Android Box based on Amlogic’s S905X4 SoC called X4, which is nothing more than the Tanix X4 but without the name.
Naturally, this loss of name is felt in the price, as it is much cheaper, something that is appreciated, since the configuration is exactly the same. We have Android 11 as a system in a TV-Box valid for use as a media player, with KODI or similar or to run games. However, it is not very suitable for use with paid streaming platforms, since it does not have certificates to display them in good quality.
Remember that you can read our review of the Amlogic S905X4 SoC that is capable of playing AV1 encoded video files.
The Android Box X4 includes the AMlogic S905X4 SoC, a Quad Core manufactured in 12 nm. A chip with low-power ARM Cortex-A55 processors that theoretically reach 2 GHz speed and integrates a Mali-G31 MP2 GPU. The VPU includes 4K@60fps, HDR, HDR10 and HLG support.
We have different versions with 4 GB of DDR3 RAM, 32/64 GB of eMMc storage and a micro SD card reader that allows us to expand the storage.
In the field of wireless connectivity, all versions of this box have Dual Band Wifi aC with an internal antenna and Bluetooth 4.1. The connectors included in the plastic box are a USB 2.0 port, another USB 3.0 port, SPDIF digital audio output in 3.5 mm format, Gigabit Ethernet connector and an HDMI 2.0 video output.
As usual, HDMI cable, power supply and a basic remote control are included to be able to use this Box from the first moment, although we have other options with different remote controls.
