Another TV-Box with Android that appears in Chinese stores, this time called X88 mini and that falls within the lowest range that we can find today.
Inside we have as engine the obsolete Rockchip RK3328A SoC based on ARM Cortex-A7 processors and totally outdated today. A very basic piece of equipment, but it can work as a multimedia player, since it is capable of decoding video even in 4K resolution and at 60fps. For other uses, games or apps for paid streaming platforms like Netflix, we have much better options for the same price or even less, such as those based on the AMlogic S905W2 SoC.
Specifications of the X88 mini
The Box X88 mini includes the low-end Rockchip RK3228A SoC manufactured in 28nm. A Chip that has four ARM Cortex-A7 processors that reach up to 1.5Ghz and a Mali-400 GPU that includes native H.265 and VP9 video decoding up to 4K@60fps with support for HLG HDR10.
It also includes 2 GB of DDR3 RAM and 16 GB of eMMc storage memory that we can expand by adding a memory device to one of the included USB ports.
Other features
Regarding wireless connections, this TV-Box only includes WiFi b/g/n with internal antenna, since it does not have Bluetooth. On the perimeter of the box we have two USB 2.0 ports, a 10/100 network connector, an analogue audio and video output jack and an HDMI 2.0 port that allows up to 4K@60fps video resolutions.
A basic infrared remote control and an HDMI cable are included among the accompanying accessories.
