WiFi 6 reaches cheap-range Boxes, X88 Pro 12 with SoC RK3188

It seems that the Wi-Fi 6 standard is beginning to be adopted even in the cheapest Android Boxes, such as the X88 Pro 12 with the entry-level RK3318 SoC.

A Box that already comes with Android 12 as its name suggests and with the addition of Wi-Fi 6 that theoretically will improve the speed and stability of the wireless network. For the rest this typical cheap product, suitable to be used as a 4K media player, internet browsing and simple games. As always, keep in mind that this Box is not suitable for viewing paid streaming platforms in high video quality, since this Chinese Box does not have any type of certificate, and we will have to limit ourselves to the most basic quality.

X88 Pro 12 Specifications

The Box X88 Pro 12 integrates as its main engine the Rockchip RK3318 SoC manufactured in 28 nm. A chip that has four ARM Cortex-A53 processors capable of reaching 1.5 Ghz and a Mali-450 MP5 GPU that includes native H.265 and VP9 video decoding up to 4K@60fps resolutions with support for HDR.

Versions are available with 2/4 GB of DDR3 RAM and 16/32/64 GB of eMMc storage memory that we can expand by adding a memory card to the SD card reader that we see on the side of the box.

In the field of wireless connections, this TV-Box has Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.0 with internal antenna. On the sides of the box made of plastic we have all its connectors that are a USB 3.0, another USB 2.0, a 10/100 network connector, SPDIF interface for digital audio output and an HDMI 2.0a that allows up to video resolutions to be output in 4K@60fps quality.

It includes a simple remote control that works by infrared, power supply and all the cables to be able to use it from the first moment right out of the box.
