It seems that after the Chinese New Year break, a new Smart Box begins to arrive in stores, in this case with the newly released RockChip RK3566 SoC that also includes Android 11.0 as an operating system.
X88 PRO 20 is the name of this new Box that carries the new Rockchip RK3566 Quad Core SoC that comes to compete with the Amlogic S905X3 which it surpasses in the GPU section, it does not compete with the S905X4, since it does not include the new codec AV1. As we saw in another of these boxes, this one also comes with the option of 8 GB of RAM and in this case with storage that can reach up to 128 GB. The design of this box is the usual one for Chinese boxes and among the included accessories we find a remote control with a microphone that is surely only enabled for basic searches.
SoC, RAM and storage
The Box X88 PRO 20 includes Rockchip’s new RK3566 SoC, a Quad Core with low-power 64-bit ARM Cortex-A55 processors that theoretically go up to 1.99 Ghz, with a Mali-G52 2MP GPU and an NPU for iA with a power of 0.8 TOPS. The RAM is 4/8 GB DDR3, the storage is 32/64/128 GB eMMc, and we have a micro SD card reader in case we want to expand the storage.
Other specs
In the field of wireless connectivity, it includes Dual Band Wifi aC and Bluetooth 4.2 with internal antenna. The connectors we have in this case are a USB 3.0 port, a USB 2.0, SPDIF digital audio output, Gigabit Ethernet port and an HDMI 2.0a video output with support for resolutions up to 4k @ 60Hz with which we can use this Box as a 4K mediacenter at full resolution.
