X98H PRO new Box with HDMI IN and WiFi 6

The X98H PRO is another new batch Android Box that we found on AliExpress, and this time it is powered by an Allwinner H618 SoC, the direct heir to the Allwinner H616.

A Smart Box that comes with Android 12 as the operating system and with good network connectivity, since in addition to Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.0 we have Gigabit Ethernet. We are also surprised by the presence of two HDMI ports, one of them for output and the other that only works for video input. Its usefulness is limited because it does not seem that it can be used to capture video in the Box, and it only works as a switch with a switch on the back of the X98H PRO.

For the rest, a valid box to run apps and use it as a 4K media player and for which we will surely have very little support for firmware updates.

X98H PRO Specifications

Inside the Smart Box X98H PRO we have an Allwinner H618 SoC whose manufacturing process and other details are unknown to us. This is a chip that integrates 4 ARM Cortex-A53 processors capable of reaching 1.5 Ghz and an ARM Mali-G31 MP2 GPU.

We have a version of this Smart Box with 2/4 GB of DDR3 RAM and 16/32/64 GB of eMMc storage memory that we can expand thanks to the micro SD card slot that it includes on one of its sides.

Other features

In the field of wireless connectivity, we have Wifi 6 and Bluetooth 5.0. As connectors, we find in its plastic case 3 USB 3.0 ports, SPDIF digital audio output, a 10/100/1000 network connector, analogue audio and video output jack, an HDMI 2.0a video output port that allows us to output video up to 4K@60fps resolutions and other HDMI video input.

The typical basic IR remote control, power supply and HDMI cable are delivered with the X98H PRO to be able to start using this Box just by taking it out of the box and connecting it to our TV.

Price and availability
