X99 Mini a new basic and cheap Box with 4GB of RAM

New cheap and basic box equipped with the Allwinner H6 SoC, this time it comes under the name of X99 Mini. A typically Chinese smart box that we can use as a local media player without problems thanks to its 4GB of RAM that comes standard and its solvent SoC Allwinner H6 that decodes any 4K video file without problems. A TV-Box with little to comment and that as usual comes to us with Android 9.0 as OS.

Basic review

The Smart Box X99 Mini can serve us perfectly for KODI and IPTV in 4K, but only to play streaming on Netflix or Amazon Prime in the lowest video quality. If you want to watch Pay Streaming in HD and 4K quality you can check our list of TV-Box certified by Netflix. In terms of power you can see the results of the SoC that assembles this Box in our comparison of the Allwinner H6 SoC included in it and with it we can run games with medium load, such as PUBG. We cannot expect great things from this Box of unknown brand at the level of update support.

X99 Mini SoC, RAM and storage

The Box X99 Mini includes the Allwinner H6 SoC, a Quad Core with ARM Cortex-A53 processors that reaches 1.8Ghz and an ARM Mali-T720mp2 GPU capable of processing video up to 4K resolutions at 60fps and 6K at 30fps thanks to its Allwinner Phoenix 3.0 VE engine. This model integrates 4 GB of DDR3 RAM and 32/64 GB of storage memory that we can expand thanks to the microSD card reader found on the side of its plastic case.

Other specifications

This box comes with only Dual Band WiFi connectivity with internal antenna on board (without Bluetooth). As connectors it includes a 10/100 network interface, AV jack, a USB 3.0 port, another USB 2.0 port and finally an HDMI 2.0 video output.

Among the included accessories we find a basic IR remote control, cables and power supply.
