The new Xiaomi TV Box S 2nd generation TV-Box begins to lower its price, which begins to have a more tempting price with its $53.
Internally, the Xiaomi TV Box S 2nd generation improves compared to the previous version, since we now have a more powerful SoC such as the Amlogic S905X4 where we have support for the new AV1 codec, Dolby Vision… Bluetooth is updated to version 5.2 and the operating system now the Google TV. On the other hand, we continue with a memory configuration of 2/8 GB, a pity this new version would not have been used to expand the storage to at least 16 GB.
The remote is also updated with shortcut keys to applications such as Netflix, YouTube, Prime Video and direct access to the rest of the apps. A Box for which we expect good update support and with which we can easily smartize any TV.

The new Xiaomi TV Box S 2nd generation includes an unknown variant of the well-known AMlogic S905X4 processor, a Quad Core manufactured in 12nm, which we have already tested in a review. A Chip with low consumption ARM Cortex-A55 processors that theoretically reach 2 GHz speed. It integrates a Mali-G31 MP2 GPU and a VPU of this SoC offers AV1 decoding support and HDR, HDR10 and Dolby Vision support. As for audio, it supports up to Dolby Atmos and DTS-HD officially.
The RAM memory is soldered on the board and is 2 GB DDR4. For storage, we have 8 GB of eMMc memory that we can expand through its USB port with a flash drive.
Other features
As for wireless connectivity, we have Dual Band Wifi aC and Bluetooth 5.2 with internal antenna. The connectors are few, we have a USB 2.0 port, 3.5 mm audio jack and an HDMI 2.0 video output with support for up to 4K@60fps resolutions.
As usual, an HDMI cable, Bluetooth remote control with integrated microphone to use Google Assistant and power supply are included to be able to use this Smart Box from the first moment.
