The new Xiaomi TV Box S (3rd Gen) has just been unveiled, featuring the new Amlogic S905X5M SoC, a processor that promises more power and capabilities.
This new Xiaomi TV Box S 3 box focused on streaming content, this time with a more rounded design and a similar controller. It is an improvement in power over the popular Xiaomi TV Box S 2 now with the recent SoC Amlogic S905X5M and a much larger internal storage with 32 GB. A processor manufactured in 6 nm and that promises to be 21% faster than its predecessor, the Amlogic S905X4. A significant increase in power that significantly improves this series of budget processors, we also have a new Mali-G310 V2 GPU that doubles its graphics power.
The default operating system will be Android TV 14 with Xiaomi’s own layer. This device will have all the necessary DRM certificates to watch in maximum quality the paid streaming channels such as Netflix or similar platforms.

Inside this new Xiaomi TV Box S (3rd Gen) certified we find in the SoC Quad Core Amlogic S905X5M, manufactured in 6 nm. This integrates ARM Cortex-A55 processors with a power of 30K DMIPS and a new ARM Mali-G310 V2 iGPU than the previous Mali-G31 MP2 integrated in the S905X4. We have support for native decoding of H.265, AVS2, VP9 and AV1 codecs with resolutions up to 4K@75fps 10 bit, compatible with HLG, HDR10 and Dolby Vision technologies.
There are several versions of this Box with 2 GB of DDR4 RAM and 32 GB of eMMc storage. If we want to expand the memory we will have to use an external USB drive.
Other specifications
In the wireless connectivity section, the Xiaomi TV Box S 3rd Gen offers us a Wifi 6 adapter and Bluetooth 5.2. The connectors included in the plastic box are a USB-A port (OTG), DC charging connector and an HDMI 2.1 video output with 4K@75 HDR resolution. We also have Chromecast to stream content from our mobile.
Additionally, it supports 7.1 sound certified for Dolby Audio and DTS:X, there is no indication of support for Dolby Atmos. As usual, a power supply and a Bluetooth remote control that has a microphone to give orders with Google Assistant are included.
