Xiaomi has just presented, among others, the new Xiaomi TV Stick 4K 2023, a totally disappointing version that does not provide any improvement, say this name.
The only novelty that we have in the Xiaomi TV Stick 4K 2023 is in its remote control because it now has a couple of extra buttons, one for Disney+ and another for access to apps. The stick repeats the look and hardware of the 2022 model, it is based on the Amlogic S905Y4 Quad Core SoC, it includes 2 GB of RAM and the expansion connectors are very limited to the bare minimum. As the operating system of this “new” Xiaomi stick we once again have Android TV 11 certified by Google with Xiaomi’s PATCHWALL layer, the integrated Chromecast is maintained, it is approved by Netflix to play in 4K UHD and the rest of streaming services. Xiaomi TV Stick 4K 2023 Specifications
The new Xiaomi TV Stick 4K 2023 includes an AMlogic S905Y4 processor, a Quad Core with low consumption ARM Cortex-A35 processors and an ARM Mali-G31 MP2 GPU that reaches 850 Mhz. This SoC includes decoding of the new AV1 codec, support for video output up to 4K@60fps resolutions and compatibility with HDR 10, HDR10+, HLG and Dolby Vision technologies.
The RAM that we have on board is 2 GB DDR4 while for storage we only have 8 GB eMMc, so we will be able to install only a few apps. Possibly, the internal memory can be expanded, but we will need a USB HUB and a fast external storage device, either through a memory card or a pendrive.
Other features
For wireless connectivity, we have Dual Band Wi-Fi aC and Bluetooth 5.0. The connectors, as we can see, are very limited, due to the fact that we only have a micro USB 2.0 OTG port for power and an HDMI 2.0a video connector. This hardware allows us to reproduce 4K@60fps compatible with Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos and DTS HD. It also includes support for the AV1 codec thanks to the new Amlogic processor that it includes.
The operating system is Android TV 11 updated directly by Xiaomi. The included remote control is Bluetooth, and we have direct access buttons to Netflix, Prime Video, Disney+ and apps as well as integrating a microphone for voice functions with its corresponding direct access key for the Google Assistant.

- The Xiaomi TV Stick 4K 2023 Stick can only be purchased in India at the moment, although without a doubt we will soon have it available on AliExpress and that you can easily identify by the buttons on the remote control.
