We present today the CHUWI CoreBook X 7430U is the new CHUWI laptop that we will see in its analysis or review. A computer with lightweight great design.
This compact laptop is the AMD version of the CHUWI CoreBook X Intel we saw some time ago. It has a 14″ 2K IPS OGS screen that occupies 85% of its front. Inside we find the efficient AMD Ryzen 5 7430U processor, a low-power chip designed for office, browsing and light design apps. In this laptop we have two expandable SODIMM modules, 16 GB of DDR4 3200 MHz RAM by default and a 512 GB M.2 NVMe 2280 SSD M.2 NVMe 2280 storage unit that can be upgraded to 4 TB. We also have a USB-C 3.2 port complete with DP video output.

Unboxing and first contact
The CHUWI CoreBook X 7430U laptop arrives in its box encased in protective foam to prevent damage in transport inside its box.
Description
This elegant CHUWI CoreBook X 7430U is built in very resistant and light aluminum. It is nice to carry, on the top front we have a 1 MP camera and a microphone next to the camera.
On the sides of the laptop we have the connectors, highlights the one next to the HDMI which is a USB-C 3.2 Full, fast charging and video, the other USB-C 2.0 is only charging. We also have two other USB-A 3.1, if we want we can connect a USB-C hub to expand connectivity easily.
If we open it we can see the cooling system with a small fan that performs its function silently. Opening the rear hatch we can access a SODIMM bank, we have another 16 GB DDR4 3200 MHz installed, so it is easy to expand to 32 GB. We have a M.2 NVMe 2280 SSD disk already mounted.
Screen
On the front we have a quality 14″ IPS InCell panel, it has a resolution of 2160 x 1440 pixels with a refresh rate of 60 Hz, we found that the image quality is good at all angles. The color quality and contrast is very good, we have 100% sRGB support which gives us a high register of shades.
Keyboard and trackpad
The keyboard is not backlit and has a 60% layout with very little flex when pressed. The screen part can be folded to a 180º angle. The top cover has amagnetic system that turns the notebook off and on when closed or opened.
The trackpad has correct dimensions and we can use it comfortably. As we have seen we have vinyl stickers in Spanish included to put it in our language if we need it.
Camera and audio
The camera integrated in the CHUWI CoreBook X 7430U has a sufficient quality for normal use. It can be used for video conferencing with its 720p and integrated microphone. It also mounts two speakers, the sound quite defined.
System and performance
Environment and user experience
We start the CHUWI CoreBook X and as we can see we have Windows 11 Home 64bit activated with its drivers installed correctly, this system is updated without problems with Windows Update. We found that the system moves without performance problems on desktop, it is possible to load numerous navigation tabs or play any multimedia content. We have a Chuwi app installed that does not serve much, we recommend uninstalling it because it can give us false positive in the antivirus as it is pending to be certified by microsoft.

Network, storage, RAM and ports
In the connectivity section in this CHUWI we find a Wifi 6 wireless adapter and Bluetooth 5.0 (Realtek 8852BE) with good speed. The SSD is a PCIe 3.0×4 that reaches normal speeds up to 4 Gbps. The RAM offers two SODIMM, we have 16 GB of RAM DDR4 3200 MHz working in Single Channel but we can mount up to 32 in Dual Channel configuration.

Processor and Benchmarks CHUWI CoreBook X
Integrated in the CHUWI CoreBook X we have the AMD Ryzen 5 7430U (Barcelo R) processor manufactured in 7 nm with 6 cores and 12 threads between 2.3 and 4.3 GHz. In the graphics section we have a Vega 7 GPU up to 1800 MHz. This processor has a limited power consumption of only 15 W TDP.
This computer has a very efficient performance, suitable for light editing applications and 3D games without excessive load. Within the range of economical low power laptops it is not in a bad place, as we can see in single core it is below its Intel version but above in multi core.
Battery and thermals
The CHUWI CoreBook X 7430U has pretty good thermals, the fan is not audible at all in normal use and a little in games. Its 7 nm processor is basically efficient thanks to its large and small cores. The 46.2 Wh battery with the screen at medium brightness can reach 6/7 hours if we make a moderate use, it is not its strongest point.
- Thermals: Idle 40ºC / Basic use 42ºC / Maximum 77ºC / CPU 4.3 GHz max / Performance up to 80%.
- Gaming performance: LoL 75ºC / CPU 2.8 GHz on average.
- Noise: Fan active / 33 dB.
Gaming
We performed multiple performance tests on games, the results are in line with this type of GPU integrated into low-power Intel. As we see Vega 7 GPU is suitable for games in 1080p or 720p quality and for heavy games to some extent.
- Setting: Medium quality / 1080p resolution / No VSync / Play emulators with RetroArch.
- On models with integrated Intel HD GPU on low and 720p resolution.
You can play titles like LoL with a fairly surplus frame rate, in more demanding games like Fornite ta not have good experience. As for emulators at most we stay in some simple Wii titles, PS2 and the like, we can not with emulators demanding 3D consoles, but supports some WiiU games.
Video and audio test

In terms of video playback, the CHUWI CoreBook X offers an integrated AMD Radeon GPU with VPU support for current codecs such as AV1. It is also HDR10 compatible and supports multi-channel audio up to 7.1. This PC is perfectly valid as a multimedia system to use KODI, IPTV or to use it with PLEX.

The Chuwi CoreBook X 7430U as we see offers good performance for home use, study, multimedia and design apps up to a certain level thanks to its AMD Ryzen 5 7430U processor. It has an attractive design with high quality aluminum body and its IPS OGS 2K 14″ OGS screen looks great. The cooling system is effective in daily use and fan noise is only noticeable if we run demanding games continuously.
The Chuwi CoreBook X i5-12450H comes standard with a 512 GB M.2 NVMe SSD and 16 GB DDR4 RAM that we can easily expand to 32 GB in Dual Channel.
