New low-cost Android TV-Box that appears by Chinese stores under the name of HK1 Cool and that only draws attention for the colorful design of its front part. On the rest of its specifications, there is little to highlight of a box that in terms of specifications comes with what seems to be the reference design that we have seen in other Boxes that mount this low-end SoC. A smart box to give a basic use as a media player and from which we can not expect quality software and that is not updated from the Android 9.0 that comes standard.
Basic review
The overall performance of the Smart TV-box HK1 Cool can be seen in the review of a similar TV-Box that we do not think has many differences in this. This box with Android can work as a basic player with KODI or IPTV even in 4K resolutions and we can also run simple games without too much demand for resources. Remember that this economic Box does not have secured support and does not have DRM certificates, so we can only watch Netflix in basic image quality. SoC, RAM and storage
The HK1 Cool Smart Box integrates the Rockchip RK3318 SoC as an engine, which has four ARM Cortex-A53 processors capable of reaching 1.5Ghz and a Mali-450mp5 GPU that includes native H.265 and VP9 video decoding even in 4K@60fps resolutions HDR. It has 2/4 GB of DDR3 RAM and 16/32/64 GB of eMMc storage memory that we can expand by adding a memory card in the included microSD card reader.
Other features
At the level of wireless connections this Smart TV Box includes Bluetooth 4.0 and WiFi b/g/n in its version with 2/16GB and WiFi Dual Band for the rest of the models. On the perimeter of the box we have a USB 3.0 port, a USB 2.0, 10/100 network connector, analog AV jack and an HDMI 2.0a port that allows up to 4K@60fps video resolutions. The classic IR remote control and an HDMI cable are included among the accessories as usual.
