The new MECOOL KM7 PLUS certified Box has just been presented, an evolution of the Mecool KM7 that we saw in review some time ago.
A new version that, in addition to the aesthetic changes that we see in the box, does not bring great news. The AMlogic S905y4 SoC is maintained and the number of connectors is increased with the addition of a SPDIF. The most important changes are in the operating system, since it now skips to Google TV based on Android 11 and is certified by Netflix to play content up to 4K quality. Now on your remote control we have direct access to Netflix, Disney + and Prime video, and we have the usual integrated Chromecast.
MECOOL KM7 PLUS Specifications
The MECOOL KM7 PLUS TV Box includes an AMlogic S905Y4 processor manufactured in 12nm. This chip is a Quad Core with ARM Cortex-A35 processors and an ARM Mali-G31 MP2 GPU clocked at 850 Mhz. This SoC includes AV1 codec decoding, support for video output up to 4K@60fps resolutions, and compatibility with HDR 10, HDR10+, HLG, and Dolby Vision technologies.
The RAM memory is 2 GB DDR4 while for storage we have 16 GB, a figure that we can expand thanks to the micro SD card reader that we have on the side of the plastic box.
Other features
For wireless connectivity, we have Dual Band AC Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.2. The connectors are on the perimeter of the box and are a SPDIF digital audio output, a pair of USB 2.0 ports, analogue audio and video output, a 10/100 network port, and an HDMI 2.1 video output connector.
The included remote control is via Bluetooth, and we have direct access buttons to Prime Video, Netflix, YouTube and Disney+ as well as a microphone for voice functions.
